In the 16th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 Barbados Royals will lock horns against Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. Both teams have started the season in excellent form, the Royals are currently placed in second place and the Warriors are at the top due to a superior net run rate.

GUY vs BR Toss Update: In the latest development, Guyana Amazon Warriors captain Shai Hope has won the toss and opted to bowl first.

It is also worth mentioning that both the teams have made significant changes in the playing XI. For Warriors Imran Tahir, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Junion Alvin Sinclair are out, Moeen Ali, Raymom Reifer, and Kevin Sinclair come in place of them. On the other side, for Barbados Royals Rahkeem Cornwall makes way for Kadeem Alleyne.

Barbados Royals have six points from four matches, they have won three and lost one. Their only loss came in a close game against Trinbago Knight Riders, where Quinton de Kock started with an aggressive start and skipper Rovman Powell made an unbeaten half-century.

However, they could only manage 156/7 in 20 overs. In response, Maheesh Theekshana’s three wickets gave them hope, but Jason Holder could not hold his nerve in the final over, which led to a narrow 2-wicket defeat.

On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors are the only undefeated team in the tournament with six points from three games. Their latest dominant victory came against St Lucia Kings. In this match, the Warriors bowlers restricted them to just 100 runs, thanks to Gudakesh Motie and Imran Tahir, who took three wickets each. Guyana comfortably chased down the target in 10 overs.

GUY vs BR: Captains Thought's

Shai Hope (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "We are going to bat second. To be fair, pitch looks a bit tacky. With a bit of weather around, we would like to bowl today. Yeah, he (Imran Tahir) misses out today. We have three changes. Moeen Ali comes in for his first game. Raymon Reifer comes in and Kevin Sinclair comes in as well.

Rovman Powell (Barbados Royals Captain): "Yes, we would have bowled first had we won the toss, The surface looks better than last night and hope to do well. I think we have to take the positives out of the game from last night. Improve 10-15% of our game and I believe we will do well in the games ahead. We have made one change today. Rahkeem Cornwall misses out and Kadeem Alleyne comes into the side."
