Mitchell Starc had a fabulous start to the Ashes 2025-26, as he dismantled England with a magnificent seven-wicket haul. The Australian ace utilised the Perth Stadium's conditions perfectly, restricting the English to a paltry 172-run total in their first innings.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, England lost the prized wickets of Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett and Joe Root early, with Starc dismissing all of them. Although Harry Brook and Ollie Pope led the English fightback with brisk knocks, Starc returned to haunt the visitors with his seam-bowling wizardry. The left-arm seamer finished his spell with magnificent figures of seven for 58, scripting several milestones as listed below.

This is Mitchell Starc's first-ever seven-wicket haul in Test cricket. Prior to the Perth exploits, Starc had 6/9 as his best bowling figures in the format. However, his spell in the first Test against England helped him register his career-best figures.
