As India and England head into Day 3 of the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at The Oval in London, there’s good news for fans, no rain is expected and the weather forecast points to a full day of uninterrupted cricket.

India began Day 2 at 204 for 6 but could only manage 224 in their first innings, adding just 20 runs. Gus Atkinson was the star of the morning, taking a five-wicket haul in his comeback Test.

England started their reply in high gear, sticking to their aggressive Bazball approach. Openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley put on 92 runs in less than 13 overs. Duckett missed out on a fifty, falling for 43 to Akash Deep, while Crawley reached his half-century but was soon dismissed by Prasidh Krishna.

Mohammed Siraj bounced back strongly after a tough start, removing Pope, Root, and Bethell in a fiery spell. Prasidh Krishna also impressed, finishing with four wickets, as England were bowled out for 247, taking a narrow 23-run lead.

In India’s second innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal came out with attacking intent, reaching his half-century with flair. KL Rahul was out for 7, while Sai Sudharsan was dismissed late in the day by a sharp delivery from Atkinson, triggering a verbal spat with Ben Duckett. Akash Deep came in as nightwatchman and struck a boundary before bad light ended play early.

Looking ahead, Day 3’s weather looks ideal. Let’s take a look at the predicted forecast:
