Disappointing for sure: Kraigg Brathwaite calls out West Indies' flaws

The Adelaide Test was nothing less than a horror show for the West Indies. The visiting team under Kraigg Brathwaite's leadership could not last long with the bat and their bowling was thwarted by Australia's enchanting batting display.

Prior to the tour Down Under, the Windies skipper pleaded in front of his batters to bat at least 100 overs in each innings. They almost did that at Perth in the first Test match, but could not continue doing the same work against the moving Pink-ball.

Calling his team's flaw, Brathwaite said that it's a disappointing loss and they have a lot to work on.

"Disappointing for sure. First game we showed some fight, but obviously, we lost guys due to injury. A good test for us and hopefully we will continue to work. Against a world-class attack in the first game, we showed that we can spend time and bat for longer periods," the Windies skipper said to the broadcaster post-match.

"Very unfortunate about the experience we lost due to injuries, but we can learn a lot from Australia about how to go about things.

The 30-year-old captain also lauded his fellow opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul, who had an impressive debut series - scoring 160 runs in two Test matches at 40.

"Impressed but not surprised about Chanderpaul. I see him playing long at the top for sure. He has a great future ahead of him for the West Indies," Brathwaite concluded.

West Indies will next play a Test against South Africa in February next year. Australia, meanwhile, will also play the same opposition in their next assignment - but their series commences next week.
