Talismanic Indian batter Virat Kohli couldn't control his emotions, as he laughed out loud following Glenn Maxwell's dismissal in the Champions Trophy semifinal. Coming at number seven, Maxwell managed only seven runs before Axar Patel cleaned him up with a beauty.
Kohli Laughs As Axar Gets Maxwell
The incident occurred during the 38th over of Australia's innings when Maxwell had just joined Alex Carey to steady the ship for his side. After hitting Axar for a huge six, Maxwell was castled by the left-arm spinner on the very next delivery.
From around the wicket, Axar Patel bowled an arm ball that came back into Maxwell after pitching around the middle and off stump. As the Australian all-rounder backed away to create room, the ball sneaked through the gap between his bat and pad, uprooting his stumps.
As soon as Maxwell got out, Kohli couldn't control his emotions, as his hilarious laugh was captured on camera.
Australia Lose 7th Amid Carey's Fireworks
Batting first, Australia have managed a respectable score on the board, thanks to excellent knocks from Steve Smith, Alex Carey and Travis Head. While Head provided them with a scintillating start, Smith and Carey struck magnificent fifties, ensuring a solid total for their team. As of writing, the Aussies were 241 for seven, with Zampa and Carey batting on 1* and 55*, respectively.
