Another IPL game and another DRS mistake and this time it came at the hands of KL Rahul and Axar Patel who gave a lifeline to Rajasthan Royals batter, Nitish Rana and allowed him to sneak away crucial runs at a crucial juncture of the match. The game was evenly poised when the event occurred.

DRS proves costly for DC

The event happened in the 15th over of the RR innings when Nitish Rana was going hammer and tongs and DC needed a wicket to make a comeback in the contest. Axar Patel bowled a fuller length ball as Nitish went for a reverse sweep and missed the ball as it thud on the front-leg. DC captain Axar and KL Rahul had a brief chat but they decided against the DRS.

However, replays showed that the ball was going onto clip the stumps and had the DRS was taken, Rana would have been dismissed. Had DC taken the review, Rana wouldn't have been able to score his fifty.

RR VS DC goes to Super Over

DC were put into bat and they posted 188/5. The team had a disastrous start losing Jake Fraser-McGurk and Karun Nair, but then KL Rahul and Abishek Porel steadied the ship before Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma provided a fiery finish.

In reply, Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave an aggressive start as RR reached fifty in no time. However, Samson walked off the field due to an injury before the likes of Jaiswal, Nitish Rana and Dhruv Jurel tried their best but the scores were level and we witnessed a Super Over.
