The highly-anticipated first T20I between South Africa and Pakistan of the ongoing series is all set to take place on Tuesday, December 10. The match is slated to kick off at Kingsmead Durban. This match is important as both teams will be looking to start strong in the series. 

South Africa have announced their squad for the series, but their regular T20I captain, Aiden Markram, has been rested. Markram is busy with the Test series against Sri Lanka, and the gap between the Test and T20 series is too short. Heinrich Klaasen will step in as captain for the T20I series. 

On the other hand, Pakistan enter the series on a high after winning their recent T20I series 2-1 against Zimbabwe. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan will captain Pakistan, with star batter Babar Azam returning to the squad. Fakhar Zaman has not been included due to concerns about his form and fitness.
