Suryakumar Yadav's blistering century secured India's victory against New Zealand in the 2nd T20I on Sunday. SKY notched up his second hundred in the shortest format of the game and the Kiwis had no answer to his onslaught.

SKY keeps soaring high

Fair to say that it was a one-man show when India were batting. Williamson won the toss and keeping in mind the rain factor, he decided to bowl first. As expected, Rishabh Pant opened alongside Ishan Kishan, but the partnership couldn't flourish as Pant departed for a pain-staking 6 off 13 deliveries.

With no Virat Kohli in the side, the man in-form, Suryakumar Yadav was promoted at number 3 and the dashing batter made full use of this opportunity. He started the repair work along with Kishan, who struggled a bit and was eventually sent packing for a 31-ball 36.

The pitch was a belter and SKY took full advantage of it. His 360 degree play came into effect as the 32-year-old took the Kiwi bowlers to the cleaners. Even the introduction of Santner and Sodhi couldn't stop Suryakumar as he blazed away to a sensational hundred and remained unbeaten on 111.

Just when it looked as if India would cross the 200-run mark, Tim Southee produced a sensational last over and bagged his second hat-trick in the T20I format. He grabbed the wickets of Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda and Washington Sundar and restricted India to 191 for 6.

Indian bowlers secure a comfortable win

It was expected that the Kiwi batters would come out all guns blazing. But by the looks of it, it felt as if the Indian bowlers had done their home-work properly.

Finn Allen was dismissed for naught by Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the second delivery of the innings and it set the tone for what was about to come. Under pressure skipper, Kane Williamson struggled to get going and so did Devon Conway. Credit to the Indian bowlers who kept it tight and the home side found it difficult to score runs freely.

Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals, no one really stood tall alongside Kane Williamson 61 off 52). But it won't be an understatement to say that even the Kiwi skipper looked scratchy and it piled up the pressure on the other batters.

With no fluidity in the New Zealand innings, the required rate kept on climbing up and the home side perished for 126, giving India a 65-run win.

Interestingly, Deepak Hooda was the pick of the bowlers for India, with figures of 4 for 10 in 2.5 overs.
