Cricket doesn't get any better when Australia and South Africa collide, and when they will meet in the biggest battlefield, i.e. World Cup 2023, in match 10 in Lucknow, things are bound to heat up. None of them are known to back down or hand an easy victory to their opponents, making things much more interesting.
These sides are coming off contrasting results in their respective first game, which means that Australia will be looking for their first points while South Africa will be eager to continue their impressive run with the bat.
AUS vs SA: Team Previews
Australia
Under Pat Cummins's leadership, Australia has been a force to reckon with. However, the loss against India in the first game by six wickets, where they could only manage 199 with the bat, must have done something to their confidence. But indeed, they won't bother themselves too much and will consider going with a clear approach.

Bowling looked a lot more threatening in the last match as new ball operators Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been the nightmares for the opposition's openers. Backed by spin specialist Adam Zampa, the Aussies also have the option of turning to Glenn Maxwell, who could be utilised well in these conditions.
Cummins would be relieved by the form of their top-order batters, as David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne have been generally doing decent.
South Africa
The Proteas, on the other hand, had a day out in Delhi against Sri Lanka, where they registered records after records thanks to tons from Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram, who took them to 428 batting first.

Markram, in particular, had the game he would never forget as the right-hander smashed the fastest hundred in World Cup history. But things are going to be different in Lucknow, where boundaries are a lot larger than Delhi, and runs would not be flowing easily.
Bowlers received a belting treatment with runs getting leaked easily, they would want to be more careful towards the line they bowl against the mighty Aussies.

AUS vs SA: Lucknow Pitch Report
The last time a match was held in Lucknow, it was heavily criticised for having a slow and sluggish surface. However, things have changed a bit after the entire square was re-laid to ensure that batting on this wicket gets easier. However, expect the ball to turn still and hold up on the pitch, but scoring runs would be fancied as a flat deck is anticipated to unroll. The team winning the toss would want to bowl first on this wicket as they will hope to chase the target down.
AUS vs SA: Probable Playing XIs
If Marcus Stoinis is fit enough to play, expect either of Cameron Green or Marnus Labuschagne to be dropped. South Africa might consider bringing in Tabraiz Shamsi in place of Gerald Coetzee.
