'Has Been One Of The Rising Stars...' Deepak Chahar Opens Up About New CSK Sensation

Deepak Chahar tryst with injuries has been a constant theme in his cricketing career. However, whenever he is fully fit, he is a match-winner for any team he plays for and he seems to be back at his best for CSK now. He is picking regular wickets in the Powerplay with his crafty swing bowling and against Delhi Capitals too, Chahar picked three wickets to stamp his authority in the game.

CSK eventually won the game by 77 runs and are the second team to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2023. Talking after the match, Chahar said that it was an important game for them and they needed a win in this game. He added that the wicket looked like a 160-run wicket and their batters did a tremendous job and applauded their openers for batting brilliantly.

"Yes thank you so much. It was an important match for us. We needed a win and we needed a big win, happy that we got that. Looks like a 160-wicket. Our batters did a tremendous job scoring runs. Both the openers batted brilliantly and took the total past 220 which is more than enough on this pitch," 

Chahar also added that there was lot of sweating due to the heat and it was difficult to grip the ball. He also applauded Tushar Deshpande for his bowling and added that he has been one of the rising stars for CSK this season. Chahar also talked about Pathirana and added that the pacer's angle gets difficult for the batters and that is his strength.

"In Chennai, it is very hot and the same goes here in Delhi as well. We get a lot of sweats and I personally get the sweat too much. It becomes difficult to grip the slower ones. I was getting the sweat on my hands and it was difficult to grip them. Deshpande has been one of the rising stars for us. He trusts his stock ball when nothing goes his way. He has improved a lot. When someone bowls at this angle (Pathirana's slingy arm) it becomes difficult to pick as a batter and that is his strength." 

CSK with a huge win over DC, CSK have consolidated their second position on the points table and will play Qualifier against GT on 23rd of May at Chepauk.
