IND vs NZ | Even the spiders don't spin the web as much: Aakash Chopra on Lucknow pitch in 2nd T20I

It was a spin fest on Sunday in Lucknow when India and New Zealand clashed in the second T20I, which the hosts won by six wickets. Indian spinners trapped New Zealand batters under 100, bowling as many as 13 overs of spin.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra hailed spinners from both sides, who ruled the roost in a format that is known for brute batting.

Chopra, in his YouTube video, also sounded baffled about why Yuzvendra Chahal did not bowl his full quota, despite claiming one wicket.

Here's what Chopra stated

"Only spin was on, from both sides. Even the spiders don't spin the web as much, that was the story. Both sides wanted to bat first. The Indian team made a change - played Yuzi Chahal in place of Umran Malik.

"The pitch was turning so much but still, Yuzi bowled only two overs. He conceded just four runs in his two overs and picked up one wicket. The opposition could score only 99 runs. The ball started turning from the first ball and we asked why was it spinning so much."

Further, the former KKR batter also raised doubts over the quality of pitches prepared across both venues in this series so far, which favoured spinners.

The series decider between India and New Zealand will take place on Wednesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
