India and England face off for supremacy in the next league-stage encounter of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Sunday (October 29) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

The Men in Blue take on the defending champions for one of the marquee battles of the tournament after enjoying contrasting results leading into this one.

Rohit Sharma and company have been on a roll and clinched five successive wins while Jos Buttler's men have suffered a string of heavy defeats and stand on the brink of elimination with just a solitary win to show for their efforts.

The reigning champions require immediate amends in their disastrous campaign and to pack their strongest punch to try and stop India's shining all-round juggernaut which has been in prime form in either department.

Awaiting the two teams for the heated clash is a tricky pitch at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, which offers spinners grip and turn and makes batters' lives difficult as the afternoon progresses.

One eye will also be reserved on the weather forecast for the India-England encounter as it could well dictate the nature of the surface in the second half of the game. Dew under lights might ease it up a touch for the side batting second, making toss a vital aspect of the game.
