South Zone will cross swords against Central Zone in the much-awaited final of the ongoing Duleep Trophy tournament. South Zone, led by Mohammad Azharuddeen, showcased remarkable skill and resilience in their semifinal encounter against the counterparts from the Northern part of India.
Although the game concluded in a stalemate, the South Zone qualified for the final, riding on a decisive lead of 175 runs. On a similar note, Central Zone edged past West Zone in the other semifinal based on a first-innings lead of 162 runs.
After half-centuries from Rajat Patidar, Shubham Sharma, Danish Malewar, Upendra Yadav and Harsh Dubey powered the Central Zone to 600 runs in their first innings, they restricted their opponents from the Western part of India to 438, with Saransh Jain registering a five-wicket haul.
