'Don't Need to Make Drastic Changes...', Rohit Sharma Explains After Maiden Victory

Finally winning their first game of the season, Mumbai Indians (MI) were over the moon after their final ball victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium. More than their win, the Mumbai-based side will be pleased that their skipper Rohit Sharma found his touch back after not being able to score a single half-century since 2021 in IPL.

Sharma's fireworks ensured that the side which couldn't do well until now, were able to earn their first points. He himself reckoned that pitch looked different from what it was earlier when they played the Test here.

Moreover, Rohit claimed that spinners played a crucial role for them as the entire team did put their hand up in this game.

"We played a Test match here recently, the pitch looked different. Getting a slow bowler was important on this pitch. The spinners kept us in the game. We needed to bat well to chase the total. I thought everyone put their hand up. We had to make it count for the team,"

After this, the skipper explained that they have a lot of young talent in the side so they need to be a little more careful of how they utilize them in the longer run. But the major talking point was that they were not looking to make any major changes to the side after a few losses.

"We have young guys who haven't played IPL before, so it's important to have faith in them. Give them that confidence, and we are trying to have a healthy atmosphere in the dressing room. Don't need to make drastic changes, that's really important."

Mumbai Indians will next lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 16th of April.
