Day 2 of the Chattogram leg in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will see a total of two matches being played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday, January 14th. Let’s take a quick preview of the two exciting contests coming ahead.

Match 11: Comilla Victorians vs Fortune Barishal

Fortune Barishal defeated the Chattogram Challengers in their last fixture by 26 runs. A complete team performance with the bat, followed by disciplined effort with the ball in the second innings helped the Barishal get their second win of the season. 

Shakib Al Hasan and his men are now placed third in the points table with 4 points in three games. They will be up against the Comilla Victorians against whom they lost the final this year. The Barishal will be confident after winning their last two fixtures and will be hoping to make it three in a row against the Victorians.

On the other side, Comilla Victorians will be desperate to get a win in this match as the defending champions are yet to register their first win of their campaign. 

Their batting line-up has not played up to the potential with their star batter Liton Das yet to light up the tournament. However, the arrival of Chadwick Walton from Nepal T20 will definitely strengthen their batting. 

But the absence of Dawid Malan and Mohammad Nabi might also go against them. Imrul Kayes and his men are currently placed at the bottom of the points table. They will be hoping to come back to winning form and register their first win of the tournament.

Match 12: Chattogram Challengers vs Dhaka Dominators

Chattogram Challengers had an off day with the ball against Fortune Barishal and as a result the home team suffered their second defeat of the season. 

The batters did try to keep themselves in the game but Shakib Al Hasan and his men held their shape with the ball throughout the innings. They are currently placed fifth in the points table with one win in three games. 

The Challengers have won all the last five outings against a Dhaka based franchise in BPL. They will be hoping to bounce back from the Barishal defeat and go up the ladder in the points table.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Dominators also lost their last match against the table toppers Sylhet Strikers and are currently placed fourth in the points table. 

Their batting woes continued as the Dominators were struggling to chase a low scoring target in their first match against Khulna Tigers and was completely outplayed by the Sylhet Strikers in the last match. 

So, moving onto this match, Nasir Hossain and his men will be hoping to have a better day with the bat and try to maintain their top four spot in the points table with another win.
