As forecasted, the toss for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) has been delayed due to the relentless rain in Bengaluru. It was expected to be a riveting battle between the two sides, but rain god has some other plans as the fans need to wait a bit longer for the toss to happen.
As per Accuweather, there were chances of rain in Bengaluru and the predictions came true as the entire squad of the ground has been covered by the groundstaffs. So, what if the RCB Vs PBKS match gets abandoned due to rain?.
What happens if RCB Vs PBKS gets abandoned?
Even though the Chinnaswamy Stadium has the best drainage system in the world, there are good chances that the match could be washed out if the rain doesn't stop.
In that case, both RCB and PBKS will be quite disappointed since they are at the top half of the table. If the match is washed out, both the sides will get a point each, which will have an impact in the points table.
RCB will then have 9 points and will jump to the second position, meanwhile, PBKS will also move to 3rd place with 9 points, displacing GT, who have 8 points in their bag. Even though both the teams will jump a place up in the points table, but neither will be too happy as they had the chance to reach 10 points and join DC.
The weather is expected to get better post 8 PM, and if the rain stops, the drainage system at the stadium will soak up the water easily.
