BAN vs ENG, 2nd ODI: Jason Roy's Emphatic Century Puts England in Commanding Spot

Jason Roy slammed his 12th ODI century and one of his finest in ODI format as England posted a healthy 326 in the second game of the series against Bangladesh.

Late cameo from the returning Sam Curran propelled England to a competitive total, and the Bangladesh batters have a tough task on their hands.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first on a spin freindly track. They started off with Shakib Al Hasan bowling the first over, and the tactics to bowl back-fired on the home side, as Roy looked in some mood today.

Having being criticised for his poor performances in recent times, Roy made a timely return to form on a track, which was not suitable for stroke-making. Bangladesh got three early inroads in the form of Phil Salt (7), Dawid Malan (11), and James Vince (5), but that was the last laught that the Tigers had for the next few hours.

Alongside skipper Jos Buttler, Roy took the attack to the opposition and the spinners had to pay the hefty price.

Bangladesh lacked a cutting-edge in the bowling lineup and both the batters took advantage of it. Roy was at his imperial best, smashing 18 fours and a solitary six, en-route to his majestic hundred. By the time he was dismissed by Shakib, Roy had scored 132 off 124 balls.

Runs continued to leak in the last 15 overs, with Buttler scoring a blistering 76, and Sam Curran adding the finishing touches, by adding 33 valuable runs in 19 deliveries.

Despite getting hammered for 66 runs, Taskin Ahmed was Bangladesh's best bowler with 3 wickets under his belt.
