India A will take on Australia A in a series that includes two multi-day matches and three one-day games. The matches will be hosted in Lucknow and Kanpur.
For the multi-day format in Lucknow, Shreyas Iyer will lead a 15-member India A squad. Several new players have been rewarded with a place in the team after their excellent performances earlier this year. Senior players KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will feature as well, but only in the second match.
In the one-day series at Kanpur, scheduled from September 30 to October 3, Rajat Patidar will captain the side in the first game. For the next two matches, the captaincy will pass to Tilak Varma, with Patidar acting as his deputy.
On the Australian side, their red-ball squad includes Test players such as Sam Konstas, Nathan McSweeney, and Cooper Connolly. In the one-day squad, the most notable name is Jake Fraser-McGurk, who rose to fame after a standout season in the 2024 IPL.
