The stage is set for a blockbuster clash as Australia Women (AUS-W) face India Women (IND-W) in the second semi-final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 on Thursday, October 30 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The high-stakes encounter will begin at 3:00 PM IST.
Australia Women
Australia Women have once again underlined their dominance, finishing the group stage at the top of the table with six wins and one no result from seven games. In their final league match, they outclassed South Africa Women by seven wickets after bowling them out for just 97, thanks to Alana King’s sensational seven-wicket haul. With the bat, Beth Mooney (42) and Georgia Voll (38) guided the chase with ease, wrapping up the win inside 17 overs.
Earlier in the tournament, Australia and India produced one of the most thrilling contests of the World Cup, with Australia successfully completing the highest run chase in Women’s ODI history. Skipper Alyssa Healy returns to lead the side after missing a couple of games through injury and the defending champions will look to continue their ruthless march into yet another final.
India Women
India Women finished the group stage in fourth position, with three wins, three losses and one no result. Despite a few narrow defeats, they have shown flashes of brilliance throughout the tournament. In their final group game against Bangladesh Women, they restricted their opponents to 119/9 in a rain-shortened match, before reaching 57/0 in 8 overs when rain forced a no result.
However, India suffered a major setback as Pratika Rawal was ruled out of the semi-final, paving the way for Shafali Verma to open alongside Smriti Mandhana. With Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh in the ranks, India will need a collective effort to overcome the mighty Australians and book their place in the final.
