India need to win this game to stay alive in the Asia Cup
The Indian team, under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, will go up against Sri Lanka in their second Super Four match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 on September 6. The contest also marks Sri Lanka’s second game of the second round of the tournament.
Team India finished their group stage with an unbeaten run, defeating both Pakistan and Hong Kong at Dubai. However, the ‘Men in Blue’ suffered their first setback in their Super Four opener, losing to an insurgent Pakistani side in the penultimate ball of the match.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have bounced back from their humiliating defeat to Afghanistan in the opening match of the competition. They defeated Bangladesh in a nail-biter next up and trumped Afghanistan in their re-match to start off their Super Four.
