Abu Dhabi T10 League 2022 | Day 9 Round-up

The action of the Abu Dhabi T10 2022 continued on Thursday (December 1) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.  Here's a brief report on the three exciting T10 matches transpired on Day 9 of 2022 season. 


Match no. 23: Delhi Bulls vs New York Strikers

Delhi Bulls' decision to bat first backfired as they lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz (2) and Rilee Rossouw (0) early. However, Tom Banton (46) and Tim David (23) were involved in a critical partnership, which put the team back on track. 

Afterwards, Najibullah Zadran (12) and Imad Wasim (14) contributed to take the Bulls to a total of 112. Stuart Binny and Jordan Thompson picked two wickets apiece for the Strikers. 

In response, Paul Stirling (5) and Muhammad Waseem (1) could not provide Strikers with a good start. But Eoin Morgan continued his rich form to hit 32 off 21, before getting dismissed by Wasim. 

Nevertheless, the power-hitting of Azam Khan (37*) and Kieron Pollard (26*) helped Strikers to seal the chase with two balls to spare. They are now at top of the table with five wins.

Match no. 24: Bangla Tigers vs Team Abu Dhabi

Invited to bat first, Bangla Tigers were off to a decent start with Hazratullah Zazai (17) and Joe Clarke (14). However, their dismissals saw the Team Abu Dhabi gaining confidence and getting better of in-form Iftikhar Ahmed (2) as well. 

Fabian Allen and Adil Rashid picked two wickets each as Bangla Tigers were restricted for 74 off 10 overs. Then, Alex Hales continued his bad form and was the first to be dismissed for Team Abu Dhabi. 

But, Chris Lynn (34*) was terrific yet again with his consistency, while James Vince did well to score 29 off 17, and Team Abu Dhabi chased the score in seven overs. With four wins, they are at the second position in the standings.

Match no. 25: Morrisville Samp Army vs Deccan Gladiators

Morrisville Samp Army opted to bat first, and got a positive start with the presence of Johnson Charles and Karim Janat. After Janat perished for 21, the Caribbean batter continued his momentum to hit 58* off 28.

Afterwards, David Miller was sensational to slam 35 off 13, and help the team to post 126 on the board. Odean Smith and Josh Little were successful to pick a solitary wicket each for Deccan Gladiators. 

Chasing a stiff total, Gladiators lost their way with quick dismissals of key batters Nicholas Pooran (4) and Andre Russell (4). Then, Tom Kohler-Cadmore (41) and Odean Smith (26) were impressive with their ball-striking abilities, but they fell short by 19 runs.
