Delhi Capitals won by 10 wickets
9:55 PM | A proper annihilation that was. While it was Marizanne Kapp's five-for that set the tone, Shafali bossed the run-chase, scoring a 28-ball 76.
This 10-wicket victory takes DC to three wins in four matches. On the contrary, it is the other way around for GG, who now have lost three of their four games.
That's it. That's the match. Shafali's 28-ball blinder takes Delhi Capitals home. She scored 76 runs at a strike-rate of 271.43 as Delhi's run-rate jumps massively.
The Capitals have tonked the highest powerplay score of the season. They are 87/0 at the end of six overs.
A thunderous half-century for Shafali. Reaches it on the 19th ball of her innings.
Another expensive over for GG, yields 23 runs. Has the pitch changed for what? Shafali is off to 40 from 15 deliveries.
Four, four, four. That's what Shafali gathered off the first three deliveries off Garth's second over. DC are finishing this off early.
9:25 PM | Tanuja Kanwar leaks as many as 14 runs in her first over as Shafali Verma scores a six and a four.
9:21 PM | Garth starts off well. Concedes just four runs
9:17 PM | DC openers are out on the field, so are the GG players. The second innings starts in 3,2,1...
An easy run-chase coming up?
9:07 PM | While Gujarat Giants were expected to dominate after choosing to bat first, it was rather lopsided half that had Delhi Capitals exercising control to the maximum limit.
While Marizanne Kapp demolished GG with their five-wicket haul, Shikha Pandey did the rest as she claimed three scalps.
The Giants had a colossal batting failure. They put on a meagre total of 105 runs. Kim Garth top-scored with her unbeaten 37-ball 32.
Mansi Joshi is the no.11.
Shikha strikes again. Rana top-edges the ball and the bowler completes the catch herself.
GG skipper Sneh Rana strides out to bat.
Kanwar departs. While Shikha Pandey outfoxs her, it's Jemimah Rodrigues, who steals the show with her celebratory dance after taking the catch.
8:53 PM | Kim Garth is undefeated on 27 runs off 31 deliveries. The Giants would want a mighty finish from her.
Shikha Pandey 👀
Aayush: Four overs to go. GG must be aiming at 100-run total from here on.
8:32 PM | Delhi Capitals take another review. The umpire's decision stays.
Tanuja Kanwar comes to the centre.
Radhav Yadav joins in on the act. Wareham is dismissed. She was starting to open up but Yadav knocks the poles off.
Aayush: Wareham and Garth are building a partnership here. But too much damage has been done. It will take quite an effort by the batters to give their bowlers something to fight for.
Twitter celebrates Kapp
8:14 PM | A strategic time-out has been taken.
Kim Garth is GG's no.8.
Kapp completes her five-for. What a game she is gaving. Sushma Verma falls prey to her brilliance. The bails light up again as Sushma misses a nip-backer.
8:01 PM | It's been all Delhi Capitals in the powerplay. GG batting line-up has been reduced to dust as five of their top batters have already gone back to the hut. 31/5 is what the score reads after the end of the first six overs of the innings.
Susha Verma is the new batter.
In-form Harleen Deol has to go. Kapp takes her fourth wicket on the night. The pacer again keeps it stump to stump as the ball crashes on to Harleen's pads.
7:56 PM | The Capitals again goes for the review. And the on-field umpire is again proved wrong. It's out.
Gujarat Giants in tatters
Gerogia Wareham is in at no.6 for GG.
Decision reversed. DC can do nothing wrong. GG are all over the place. Shikha Pandey bowls wide from the off-stump. Hemalatha flashes hard only to give a straightforward catch to the wicket-keeper.
7:48 PM | DC goes upstairs for a caught-behind review. Umpire has given it not-out.
The Kapp storm
Dayalan Hemalatha walks in to bat.
Two in two for Kapp. The umpire's call decides the decision in favour of DC. The South African again brought the ball in as Gardner gets hit on her pads.
7:42 PM | Gardner has been given out. She has taken a DRS.
Ashleigh Gardner is the new batter.
What a nip-backer. Marizanne Kapp takes down debutant Laura Wolvaardt with a peach. The batter goes for the drive but misses the line as the ball comes in late.
Harleen Deol walks in at no.3.
Kapp puts the pressure on GG right away. Bowls a yorker as Meghana could not put bat to ball and hence, gets bowled.
7:30 PM | The players are out on the field. Sabbhineni Meghana and Laura Wolvaardt are the GG openers. Marizanne Kapp will bowl the first over for DC.
Delhi Capitals Women : Shafali Verma, Meg Lanning (c), Jemimah Rodrigues, Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav, Tara Norris, Taniya Bhatia (wk), Jess Jonassen, Minnu Mani, Laura Harris

Gujarat Giants opt to bat
Pitch Report (Julia Price and Stacy-Ann King): We have got a brand new pitch. A nice covering of grass here. 51 m boundary on my leg side. This pitch might be a bit different. The Pacers will have to hit proper lines tonight. Anything overpitched and short have been absolutely punished and the bowlers will have to bowl a touch fuller. Be in the off-stump line. 173 is the average score here and will be interesting to see who comes out on top tonight.
Moments before the match
6:44 PM | Toss in about 15 minutes...
Fantasy tips 👇
South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt has replaced injured Beth Mooney in the GG squad.
The two teams had contrasting results in their respective previous matches. While Gujarat Giants recorded their maiden WPL victory in their last game, Delhi Capitals' two-match winning-run was shattered by Mumbai Indians.
