West Indies Women (Source: Twitter/@ESPNcricinfo)
The good days are finally here. The Women's T20 World Cup was inaugurated on Friday, with South Africa Women facing Sri Lanka Women. The next day of the coveted event will see a doubleheader clash. The first one, being a face-off between England Woman and West Indies Woman at the Boland Park, Paarl.
The England side are high on momentum as they arrive on the back of two wins in their warm-up fixtures against South Africa Women and New Zealand Women. Previously, they also faced West Indies Women in a five-match T20I series where the latter was whitewashed terribly. In the last five T20I England played, they have a win percentage of 100%.
On the other hand, West Indies have had a few horrendous moments in the last few months. They were on the receiving end of a clean-sweep by England Women at their own backyard in December. Later, they were a part of the South Africa Women's Tri-nation series, where they failed to win even a single match out of four.
To add some twist, the Windies won one of their warm-up games against Sri Lanka in a last-over thriller.
Clearly, the English Women hold the upper hand on paper, but we shall drag our attention to manufacture a formidable fantasy team. So, let's get done with the necessities.
