MI Cape Town is in the fifth position with two wins in seven games. They have been average as a team despite all the big names in their ranks. They've lost their last three games in a row and will be eager to win this game. It's a do or die game for them to keep their playoffs chances alive.

Joburg Super Kings, on the other hand, have been below average this season. They've won only one game out of seven and are at the bottom of the points table. Their batters have failed to get going and the bowlers have been inconsistent at times. JSK is most probably out of the play-offs race but they'll look to win all of their remainings games and see what happens after that.

The pitch at the Newlands is generallly an excellent one for batting but it was a little two paced in the last game.
