RAN vs COV - Toss Factor

Eight out of the 13 matches have been won by teams batting second so far in the tenth season of the Bangladesh Premier League . The skipper winning the toss will definitely look to bowl first and have a target in front of him in this mouth-watering fixture between two competitive sides.

Scenario: If Rangpur Riders win the toss

The Riders will look to field first in this contest. Experienced campaigner Shakib Al Hasan will become a crucial and vital pick if the Riders decide to bowl first. The veteran has been amongst the wickets and will look to keep doing his job in this fixture as well. The left-handed batter and skipper Nurul Hasan will be key in a big run-chase for Rangpur.

The bowling department will also be handled by Shakib, Mahedi Hasan and another veteran in the form of Imran Tahir.

Scenario: If Comilla Victorians win the toss

The duo of Towhid Hridoy and Litton Das have been amongst the runs for the Victorians this season. The pair will again be responsible for guiding their side home if they are facing a big and stiff target.

The bowling department consists of West Indies duo of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, England spinner Moeen Ali and Matthew Forde. All four will have their work cut out as they look to restrict the Riders to a low total.

RAN vs COV - Top Captain and Vice Captain Picks

Scenario: If Rangpur Riders bat first

Shakib Al Hasan - Shakib Al Hasan has struck the second-most runs for the Riders in the ongoing campaign. He has also picked up the most wickets (17) for this side so far in BPL 10. He is an obvious pick for this category.

Mahedi Hasan - All-rounder Mahedi Hasan has taken the second-most wickets (15) after Shakib for the Riders in this campaign. The 29-year old is averaging 17 with an economy rate of just under seven. Mahedi has also hit 158 runs at an average of 23 with one half-century. He will be key along with Shakib for this significant encounter.

Scenario: If Comilla Victorians bat first

Towhid Hridoy - Youngster Towhid Hridoy is the second highest run-getter in BPL 10. The 23-year old right-handed player has hit 383 runs at an average of 38.33 with one century and one half-century to his name. Considering his form, Hridoy is definitely an obvious choice for this category.

Litton Das - Skipper Litton Das has amassed the second-most runs after Hridoy for the Victorians. The right-handed opening batter has scored close to 300 runs at an average of 24.33 which includes two half-centuries. Das will look to lead his side from the front with both as a captain and as an opening batter.

RAN vs COV - High Risk, High Reward

James Neesham (RAN) - James Neesham, who bats lower down the order, could be a risky pick for this fixture. The left-handed New Zealander has managed to score 166 runs at a solid average of 55.33 and has also snared four scalps this season. Neesham will look to do the finisher role by contributing for his team lower down the order.

Moeen Ali (COV) - England all-rounder Moeen Ali has scored only 82 runs in four outings so far. The left-handed player has scores of 53*, 0, 6 and 23 under his belt. Moeen has also picked up six wickets in five innings so far. He could be a risky but worthy pick for the Qualifier 1 clash.

RAN vs COV Stay Aways

Brandon King (RAN) - West Indian Brandon King has managed to score just 87 runs in nine innings this season. The right-handed opening batter is averaging a mere 9.66 with the highest score of 45. His current poor form makes him a risky pick for this match.

Sunil Narine (COV) - Experienced campaigner Sunil Narine has picked up only two wickets in three innings. The pinch hitter has also scored only 31 runs while opening the innings twice in the last two games. The 35-year old could well be avoided for the fantasy points in this encounter.
