HUR vs REN, Match 13: Venue Analysis

The wicket at the Bellerive Oval has provided help to the bowlers with early movement but the surface tends to become a batting paradise as the game progresses.

HUR vs REN, Match 13 - Toss Factor

The stadium will host its first game of the ongoing BBL season. Since the track becomes a lot more easier to bat on as the match progresses, the skipper winning the toss may opt to field first and chase down the target.

Scenario: If Hobart Hurricanes Fields First

Seam bowlers Nathan Ellis and Chris Jordan will have to do the job of picking up the wickets for the Hurricanes. The duo will be supported by all-rounder Corey Anderson as those three look to restrict the Renegades to a modest total. Hobart's batting hasn't clicked yet and Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott will be the ones who look to turn things around for their side.

Scenario: If Melbourne Renegades Fields First

Pacers Will Sutherland and Kane Richardson will look to pick up early wickets for the Renegades. The spin pair of Adam Zampa and Mujeeb Ur Rahman are also key members in this Melbourne bowling line-up. Top-order batter Jake Fraser-McGurk has looked in great touch and has also received praise from star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Fraser-McGurk will be crucial in a big run-chase for the Renegades.

Scenario: If Melbourne Renegades Fields First

Jake Fraser-McGurk (REN)

As mentioned above, Jake Fraser-McGurk has been amongst the runs for the Melbourne side so far in BBL 13. The 21-year old youngster smashed 48 off just 24 with five fours and three maximums against Sydney Sixers. He then slammed 55 off just 23 which included one four and seven towering sixes against Brisbane Heat. The Renegades will rely heavily on him to provide quickfire start yet again.

Aaron Finch (REN)

Veteran and experienced campaigner Aaron Finch is the leading run-scorer for the franchise with two centuries and 26 half-centuries at an average of 35. The right-handed middle-order player scored 33 against the Sixers in the ongoing campaign. Finch will again have to shoulder the responsibility of guiding his side home in a big run-chase.

Scenario: If Hobart Hurricanes Fields First

Caleb Jewell (HUR)

Caleb Jewell struck a quickfire 42 off just 24 which included seven fours and a maximum against Sydney Sixers. The 26-year old left-handed opening batter scored 12 off 11 against Perth Scorchers in the next game. The Hurricanes will need him to provide a confident and aggressive start if they are up against a big target.

Ben McDermott (HUR)

Ben McDermott has slammed the second-most runs for the Hobart franchise in the history of the BBL. The right-handed batter has over 2300 runs to his name at an average of 33.49 with three hundred and 12 fifties. The 29-year old top-order batter hasn't quite yet hit form in two matches but would be raring to go for this fixture.

HUR vs REN, Match 13 - Big Risk, Big Return Choices

Tim David (HUR)

Destructive middle-order player Tim David averages 30 for the Hurricanes which also includes two half-centuries. The 27-year old has got two low scores so far under his belt and is due for a big knock. David may look a risky but is a worthy pick for this contest. The Hurricanes would hope that he takes his side over the line in a run-chase.

Quinton de Kock (REN)

South Africa international Quinton de Kock bagged a seven-ball duck against Brisbane Heat last time out. The 31-year old wicketkeeper batter will look to be amongst the runs in this fixture. The left-handed opening batter is a quaility and proven international performer as he is a good fit for this category.
