2023 has already been quite a monumental year for India when it comes to becoming a sporting nation. The laurels across all disciplines of sports in the recently concluded Asian Games 2022 in China are a testimony to that.

During the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) 141st meeting, which took place in Mumbai over the weekend, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened up on India bidding for the 2036 Olympics.

With the IOC approving cricket as an official entry in the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics 2028 programme, India's potential bid has gained quite a massive boost.

Co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Shah Rukh Khan, has equated India's potential bid to how young kids all across the nation want to become pacers.

India has always been a land of batters, and spinners, where the culture of fast bowlers has been on the back-burner, but recently the rise has been phenomenal.

As quoted by CricTracker, Khan drew a parallel with former India all-rounder Kapil Dev and current bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who current generation aspire to become.

Here's what KKR Co-Owner said

"Hosting the Olympics will boost India's sporting culture. It's like a big fast bowler from India, Kapil Dev or Jasprit Bumrah, all the young kids want to bowl fast"

Apart from KKR, Khan also owns an Major League Cricket (MLC) franchise, and is helping USA Cricket build a cricket stadium in LA.
