Team India’s star batter Rohit Sharma recently bought a brand-new Tesla, and the internet went into a frenzy after Elon Musk himself retweeted a video of Rohit driving his latest luxury car. 

The viral clip, originally posted on X (formerly Twitter), shows Rohit casually driving his sleek Tesla, which reportedly costs between ₹59.89 lakh and ₹67.89 lakh in India.

What caught everyone’s attention, however, wasn’t just the car owned by Rohit Sharma, it was the fact that Tesla CEO Elon Musk reposted the video, adding his signature seal of approval. 

Musk, always spontaneous with his social media activity, couldn’t resist and retweeted the post, instantly sending fans and cricket enthusiasts into a meltdown.

Rohit’s Tesla is the latest addition to his growing collection of luxury cars. The 38-year-old cricketer already owns some of the most expensive vehicles in India, including a Lamborghini Urus SE, a BMW M5, and a Mercedes GLS 350d. 

But what makes his Tesla extra special is his personal touch, the number plate reportedly features the birth dates of his children, daughter Samaira (December 30) and son Ahaan (November 15). 

Rohit likely to play Vijay Hazare Trophy

Veteran Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are reportedly set to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, returning to domestic cricket after a long time. 

The move aligns with the BCCI’s push for senior players to maintain match fitness through domestic competitions. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar had hinted that consistent game time is crucial for seniors to be considered for selection.
