It turned out to be an absolutely one-sided game in the Asia Cup 2025, where the Indian side had a memorable outing against the hosts, the UAE (United Arab Emirates). However, moving away from the game, attention for a brief period was diverted towards fans expressing their feelings towards former Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Fans Miss Indian Superstars During Clash In Asia Cup

It was the second clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai, where India were taking on the hosts, the UAE, as the Indian side claimed an outstanding nine-wicket victory after bowling out the hosts for a paltry 57. Following this, they chased the score down in just 4.3 overs with nine wickets to spare.

During the course of the game, attention shortly shifted to a moment where some fans were seen holding posters conveying their message through different, unique means. Once during the game, the camera panned out to a few fans, with one of them holding a poster remembering former Indian legends, who retired from T20I cricket, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, with a message, "We Miss You" was written in the middle.

For the unversed, Kohli retired after India's last year's T20 World Cup campaign, which turned out to be a successful affair, considering the Men In Blue claimed a chilling win in the finale and lifted their second T20 World Cup title. Following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, both Kohli and Rohit retired from Test cricket and are now only active members of the ODI side.

India Steamroll The Hosts In Dubai

As for the game, the Indian side earned a few essential points, alongside boosting their net run rate, as Kuldeep Yadav bowled a miserly spell of 4 for 7 in his 2.1 overs, while Shivam Dube was fantastic with 3 for 4 in his two overs.

For the hosts, Alishan Sharafu was the only one to cross the 20-run mark, scoring 22 of 17 deliveries, while skipper Muhammad Waseem was the second-highest scorer with 19. The rest of the batters couldn't even reach the double-figure mark, as the UAE side were bowled out for a petty 57 in just 13.1 overs.

In reply, Abhishek Sharma (30 off 16) and Shubman Gill (20* off 9) helped India ease the chase, as they finished in just 4.3 overs with nine wickets remaining in the tally, gaining a few crucial points and a strong net run rate in the tournament.

India will next face Pakistan in the marquee clash scheduled for 14th September in Dubai, with a lot at stake for this relatively young side.
