Indian batting stalwart and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer turned 29 on December 6, and the cricketer celebrated the occasion with his close friends in a seemingly private ceremony.
Iyer recently starred in India’s emphatic 4-1 T20I series triumph over Australia at home, mere weeks after powering the ‘Men in Blue’ to the final of last month’s 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer was spotted celebrating his 29th birthday with his close friends on December 6. When asked to make a wish while cutting his cake, the white-ball star said: “God has been kind.”
This has been a popular line recently mentioned by one of the superstars in Bollywood, Bobby Deol. The 54-year-old made a blockbuster comeback in a movie named Animal, and wherever he goes and meets Paparazzi, he utters the same words.
Shreyas Iyer recently pumped out a match-winning 53 against Australia in Bengaluru to star in India’s 4-1 series win over the visitors.
Prior to India’s home series against Australia, the batting veteran minted 530 runs across 11 World Cup 2023 innings, to emerge as one of the leading run-getters of the competition. Iyer scored his runs at an average of 66.25 and maintained an astonishing strike-rate of over 113. The right-handed batsman also unfurled two majestic match-winning hundreds, including one against New Zealand in the semifinal.
Iyer recently became one of the many retentions made by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise for next year’s IPL 2024 season. As of now, he is bound to tour South Africa along with his national teammates, considering he is one of only a few Indian stars to find his name in each of team’s three-format squads against the Proteas.
