Ahead of the IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was already roaring but not for sixes or wickets. It was the voice of Shankar Mahadevan and his sons that set the stage ablaze by delivering an emotional, high-voltage tribute to the Indian armed forces and their heroic role in Operation Sindoor.

In a performance that tugged at every heartstring in the Narendra Modi Stadium, Shankar Mahadevan, flanked by his sons Siddharth and Shivam, delivered a powerhouse musical set that had the entire crowd up on their feet.

From "Vande Mataram" to "Ae Watan" and "Ye Desh Hai Veer Jawano Ka", the trio weaved together a patriotic medley that had goosebumps written all over it. The world’s biggest cricket stadium, packed to the rafters, turned into a sea of tricolour and chants.

Operation Sindoor Gets The Limelight On Cricket’s Biggest Night

With the world watching, Shankar and his team used the IPL final stage to salute the real heroes, the brave men and women of the Indian armed forces. 

Their tribute to Operation Sindoor brought a lump to the throat and a sense of pride to the chest. Fans and players alike were seen applauding, saluting and even wiping tears.

Shivam and Siddharth Mahadevan matched their father step for step, voice for voice. Together, the trio set the tone. Their vocals soared, the crowd roared and the atmosphere turned electric. In a night that promised fireworks with bat and ball, the Mahadevans lit the first spark and it blazed.
