When it comes to wealth in Indian cricket, the first names that come to mind are the legendary trio: Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli. Tendulkar is considered the most significant cricket player, with his incredible career and massive endorsements reportedly worth around $170 million.
The next in line is former captain MS Dhoni, who has a net worth of $111 million and not to forget Kohli, who comes in with an approximate net worth of $92 million. These cricketers have managed to be amongst the top-richest athletes, but there is one player richer than them, and he's just 22 years old.
Meet Aryaman Birla, World's Richest Cricketer
While holding on to that title as the wealthiest crickets in the world, Aryaman Birla, son of tycoon industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, holds an estimated net worth amounting to ₹70,000 crores or around US$ 8.5 billion. Unlike Tendulkar, Dhoni, and Kohli, whose fortunes come largely from their over decade long cricket careers and endorsements, Aryaman’s wealth is primarily derived from his family’s vast business empire, the Aditya Birla Group.
Although he did try cricket as a career for a very short period, he made his debut for Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy in 2017 and then went on to sign an IPL contract with Rajasthan Royals in 2018. His sporting journey, however, was relatively short-lived as injuries and mental health issues led him to quit the game in 2019.
Since then, Aryaman has adopted the family legacy and got on the corporate board. He was made an additional director at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited in 2023 and is an executive director at Grasim Industries and Aditya Birla Management Corporation.
