Star India batter Sanju Samson recently took to his Instagram handle to extend birthday wishes to the legendary South Indian actor Rajinikanth yesterday. Samson shared a video reel on his official Instagram handle, which included a few shots from Rajinikanth’s famous movies.
“Happeist birthday, my SuperNatural superstar Rajni sir,” wrote Samson in his Instagram.
Meanwhile, what attracted the eyeballs of the cricket fans was a comment made by IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings in the comment section of Samson’s post. The fans are speculating and considering this comment by CSK as a dig at the current Indian team management led by head coach Gautam Gambhir.
“God will defeat good people, but will not leave hands,” read the translation of CSK’s comment which was originally in Tamil.
Here’s a look Sanju Samson’s instagram post and CSK’s comment:

Notably, Samson has been out of Team India’s playing XI for the last couple of games in ODIs and T20Is, including the ongoing five-match T20I series between India and South Africa. So, CSK’s comment also compels the fans to think in that direction that it could be a hit at management’s decision to bench Samson.
Sanju Samson set to play for CSK in IPL 2026
Speaking of CSK-Samson story, the former RR skipper and wicketkeeper-batter was roped in by the five-time IPL champions in a trade with Rajasthan Royals. The CSK sent the veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and overseas star Sam Curran to the Royals to get Samson in their squad. The Kerala batter was traded by CSK for his existing fee of INR 18 crore.
Looking back at Samson’s illustrious IPL career so far, he has featured for two franchises, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in his 12-year-long journey across 13 editions. It includes his two editions for DC in 2016 and 2017 when RR were banned from the tournament.
The 31-year-old has scored 4704 runs in 172 innings of the 177 games he has played so far in his IPL career, with an average of 30.94, hitting three centuries and 26 half-centuries. In the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026, he will be in action for third franchise in his career in the league.
