Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made it to the IPL final for the 4th time after a big win over Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1. After years of heartbreak, RCB fans finally have something to cheer about, and so does Virat Kohli’s sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra.
The match was held in Mullanpur on Thursday, and RCB won by 8 wickets, reaching the final for the first time since 2016. Bengaluru chose to bowl first and destroyed the PBKS top order in the powerplay.
Josh Hazlewood was excellent with figures of 3/21, while young spinner Suyash Sharma also picked up 3 wickets for just 17 runs. Yash Dayal chipped in with 2 wickets as PBKS were bowled out for just 101 runs in 14.1 overs.
Bhawna Dhingra Over The Moon After RCB’s Qualifier 1 Win
RCB's chase didn’t start smoothly, as they lost Virat Kohli (12) and Mayank Agarwal (19) early. But Phil Salt turned the game around with a fiery 56 not out of 27 balls. Captain Rajat Patidar stayed unbeaten on 15, and RCB reached the target in just 10 overs.
Along with millions of fans across the country, Virat Kohli’s sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra also savoured the moment. She took to Instagram shortly after the win and posted a story with a “Finals” sticker and an amulet emoji, which is believed to protect against the evil eye.

Her post showed how proud and excited she was about RCB’s strong performance and how much she hopes they finally win their first IPL trophy after an 18-year wait.
What Happened When RCB Last Played An IPL Final?
RCB are in their fourth IPL final, the last being in 2016. In that match, Virat Kohli scored a brilliant 54 after a 114-run opening stand with Chris Gayle while chasing 209 set by SRH. But once Kohli fell, RCB’s middle order collapsed, and they lost by 8 runs. Despite Kohli’s heroics and 973 runs that season, RCB couldn’t win their maiden title. This time, fans hope for a different ending.
