It was a proud moment for Jasprit Bumrah and the Indian fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, January 26. The crowds cheered and Bumrah smiled. No, its not the bowler cracking a wicket, but the world's one of the greatest music band honouring the legacy of the Indian bowler.

It was Coldplay's second day of the concert at the Narendra Modi Stadium where he paid a massive tribute to Jasprit Bumrah in front of 1.32 lakh people. Coldplay is a British rock band and is one of the biggest music sensation of the world with Chris Martin as their lead vocal artist. As Bumrah attended the concert on Sunday, Chris was seen tributing him with a beautiful impromptu song.

Chris Martin Hails Bumrah With His Song

In his previous concert of the India tour, Chris Martin had acknowledged the sensation saying, "Jasprit Bumrah is backstage and wants to play cricket with me. He's the best bowler in the world," to which the crowd roared cheerfully.

This time around, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Bumrah attended the concert and Martin didn't waste the opportunity. Amidst his concert, he hyped up the crowd with 'Bumrah, Bumrah' chants and sang a small impromptu snippet to give tribute to the bowler.

"Jasprit, my beautiful brother, the best bowler in the whole of cricket, We do not enjoy watching you destroy England with wicket after wicket..." sang Martin.

Well, it may not be the most stunning verse Martin ever wrote, but it definitely won over the audience in Ahmedabad, making them feel a strong connection to him as he acknowledged the Indian quick's greatness.

Jasprit Bumrah's Champions Trophy Prospects Under Cloud

On another note, Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness is still up in the air as he gears up for the ICC Champions Trophy. He had some back issues during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy final, and he’s set to get scans on February 2 to see how serious the injury is. He couldn’t bowl in the second innings of the Sydney Test because of back swelling, which has left fans worried about his availability for the upcoming series against England.

The BCCI is suggesting that Bumrah will likely miss the first two ODIs versus England, and Harshit Rana has been brought in as a replacement for those matches. Bumrah is still part of the Indian squad for the Champions Trophy, but whether he gets to play will depend on how well he recovers.
