Rohit Sharma is known for being fun and relaxed, and he showed that again recently. Ahead of the IPL 2025 eliminator match against Gujarat Titans on May 30, Rohit was seen having a good time singing a playful song for his new teammate, Jonny Bairstow.
Rohit Sharma Dedicates Special Song For Bairstow
In a video shared by the Mumbai Indians on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), Rohit Sharma was seen singing along to a popular English song, “Circles” by Miller Hoffmann. Adding a playful twist, the former MI captain modified the lyrics to reference Bairstow, singing, “Bairstow..., Bairstow,..... From Bairstow.”
Bairstow recently joined Mumbai Indians for ₹5.25 crore, just for the playoffs. The 35-year-old batter came in as a replacement for fellow English player Will Jacks. However, Bairstow is expected to take over the wicketkeeping role from South African opener Ryan Rickelton in the team’s playing XI for the remaining matches of the tournament
Jonny Bairstow's IPL Record
Bairstow is no stranger to the IPL. He has earlier played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). One of his best performances came in IPL 2024 when he scored a brilliant century to help Punjab Kings chase down a huge target of 262 against Kolkata Knight Riders. In total, Bairstow has played 50 IPL matches and scored 1589 runs at a strike rate of 144.45 and average of 34.54.
Mumbai Indians will face Gujarat Titans on Friday in the Eliminator match. This match is do-or-die affair for both of the sides as the loser will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winner will enter Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings.
