Yorkshire Vikings ropes in Shadab Khan for T20 Blast

Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has signed with the Yorkshire Vikings to feature in the Vitality Blast 2022.

The club confirmed the development in a press release, which stated that Shadab would be available for Yorkshire in their first five and last six group games of the upcoming season of the T20 Blast competition.

The 23-year-old Pakistan international has been a prominent T20 name, featuring in many leagues at the global level. Although young, Shadab is a polished campaigner and has good T20 numbers to his record, scoring 1,695 runs and claiming 217 wickets in 188 matches.

Yorkshire's managing director of cricket, Darren Gough, commented on Shadab's addition to the squad and praised him for his diverse skill set.

"I have been watching the team from afar over the past four or five years, and I think we have lacked a couple of things that I would like to see. So I would like our one day game to go in a different direction," Gough said in Yorkshire's media release.

"Shadab Khan is someone who can bat at the top, bat in the middle order and hits the ball a long way. He is also an unbelievable spinner. So you can imagine Shadab, Adil Rashid and Dom Bess bowling together, giving us a fantastic spin department."

The leg-spinner expressed his excitement at becoming a part of the Yorkshire Vikings. He will be joined by fellow Pakistan teammate Haris Rauf, who the club has signed for the first five matches.

"I'm really excited to be heading to Yorkshire for the Blast. Ever since I started my cricketing journey, it has always been my dream to play county cricket. It will be made even more special with me being able to play alongside my good friend, Haris," Shadab mentioned.

"I can't wait to meet my teammates and get going," he added.

PAK vs AUS | 3rd ODI | Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, Fantasy XI

The 3rd and final ODI between Pakistan and Australia will be played on 2nd April at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The three-match ODI series is currently levelled at 1-1. The hosts suffered a significant loss in the first ODI as Australia beat them by 88 runs. However, they bounced back stronger in their next match and recorded their highest one-day international (ODI) run-chase to beat Australia by six wickets. Shaheen Afridi shined with the ball as he took four wickets while conceding 63 runs in his quota of 10 overs for Pakistan. Babar Azam led from the front and scored an 83-ball 114, while Imam-ul-Haq smashed a 97-ball 106 runs to chase down a 349-run target with six balls to spare. After putting to bat first, Australia lost their captain Aaron Finch for a golden duck. Travis Head and Ben McDermott then steadied the ship as they put on a 162-run partnership. Marnus Labuschagne also smashed a half-century, while Marcus Stoinis notched 49 runs. Australia is not playing with a full-strength squad, but still, they outplayed the hosts in the first ODI and looked decent in the second game. On the other hand, Pakistan already cleared their intentions in the second ODI. So the series decider promises to be a thriller on Saturday with the series at stake. Pitch Report The pitch at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, was a batting paradise in the first two ODI games. There is nothing much on offer for bowlers. The team batting first would look to post 330-plus runs on board, given the dew factor that comes in the latter stages of the game. Overall, we can expect a high scoring thriller on Saturday.
