WPL 2025: Squads, Schedule,Venue And All You Need To Know

The third edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) is set to commence on February 14, 2025, in Vadodara, marking the beginning of another exciting season of women's franchise cricket in India. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns against Gujarat Giants in the tournament opener.  

The WPL 2025 season will be played across four different venues- Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The opening leg of the tournament will be hosted at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, before the action shifts to Bengaluru for the second week.  

Following this, Lucknow will host the next four league fixtures, while the remaining four league matches, along with the Eliminator (March 13) and the Final (March 15), will take place in Mumbai at the Brabourne Stadium.

How Many Foreign Players Can Play In Playing 11 In WPL?

It is important to note that, a total of four foreign or international players can play in the playing XI. However, if a team wants, they can also include a player from Associate Nation. For example, Delhi Capitals included USA pacer Tara Norris in the 2023 WPL. 

Who Won The Tata WPL In 2024?

In the 2024 season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru lifted the trophy by defeating Delhi Capitals in the final. Mumbai Indians finished third, with UPW and Gujarat Giants finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
