In a significant development, Cricket South Africa has unveiled a formidable 15-member squad for the Women's Cricket World Cup. As expected, Laura Wolvaardt has been named the South African Women's skipper, with veteran cricketer Dane van Niekerk missing out on selection.

Wolvaardt, Tryon, Kapp And Luus Form South African Core

Despite taking a retirement U-turn, Dane van Niekerk hasn't found a place in South Africa Women's World Cup squad. Meanwhile, stylish opening batter Laura Wolvaardt will lead the South African contingent in the tournament, forming the core group alongside the experienced trio of Chloe Tryon, Marizanne Kapp and Sune Luus.

Apart from these four players, South Africa will bank on Tazmin Brits for their success with the bat, while the famed trio of Ayabonga Khaka, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Masabata Klaas will spearhead their bowling attack.
