  • Wi Vs Ban Visitors Suffer Injury Blow As Mohammad Saifuddin Ruled Out Of Odis And T20is

WI vs BAN: Visitors suffer injury blow as Mohammad Saifuddin ruled out of ODIs and T20Is

Bangladesh have been handed an injury blow, as Mohammad Saifuddin has been ruled out of the white-ball tour of the West Indies in July. As reported by Cricbuzz, BCB's medical board has already conveyed the information to the selection panel, who will take the appropriate steps and bring in a replacement.

Mohammad Saifuddin suffered a back injury ten days ago and was treated with a pain-relieving injection. Unfortunately, this ruled him out of practice for at least a week. The Bangladeshi pacer was all set to hit the nets on June 21, but he is still battling with some discomfort which has ruled him out of the West Indian tour.

BCB's Chief Sports Physician, Dr Debashis Chowdhury, confirmed Saifuddin's unavailability for the series as he continues his rehabilitation.

"Although Shaifuddin is training, we feel that at the moment, he has not reached the bowling fitness level required to cope with the intensity of international cricket. He will miss the West Indies series as he continues his rehab and works on his fitness," Dr Debashis said in a statement.

Mohammad Saifuddin has been unable to feature in International Cricket since he left the Bangladesh camp midway through the T20I World Cup last year. He made a couple of appearances in the domestic circuit, but he has struggled with a persistent back injury.

Bangladesh have already been defeated in the first of the two-match Test series against the West Indies. After the Test series concludes, Bangladesh will lock horns with West Indies for a two-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. The tour ends on July 16, with the final ODI being played in Guyana.
