The Indian team has arrived in Dominica for their tour of the Caribbean, marking their first visit to the island nation since 2019 when they remained unbeaten across formats under the leadership of Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli receives grand welcome in Dominica

This tour holds significant importance for the Indian side as they gear up for the upcoming ODI World Cup, scheduled to be hosted in India in October-November. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian side vs the Windies in two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is, including two matches to be played in Lauderhill, Florida, at the United States of America.

Amidst the excitement surrounding the first Test, slated to begin on July 12, a video capturing a heartwarming moment has gone viral on social media. Kohli, the batting maestro, was warmly welcomed by a fan in Dominica, who hailed him as the biggest name in the Indian team.

The fan expressed his admiration, saying, "We can get him... Mr. Kohli, welcome to Dominica. So, Mr. Kohli, Virat Kohli... probably the biggest name on the team making his way there now."

Kohli, being the epitome of humility, graciously accepted the fan's praise as the Indian contingent entered in what appears to be a hotel.

Meanwhile, Kohli, who has staggering numbers against West Indies, has an opportunity to further enhance his record on this highly anticipated tour.

Currently, he has amassed 3653 runs against the West Indies, trailing behind the legendary Jacques Kallis, who scored 4120 runs. With a gap of only 467 runs to bridge, Kohli stands a good chance of surpassing Kallis' record during this tour.

Furthermore, Kohli has notched eleven centuries across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is against the West Indies He needs another three centuries, which would propel him past the legendary Sunil Gavaskar, who currently leads the chart with 13 centuries against the Caribbean nation.
