Dynamic 360-degree batsman Suryakumar Yadav linked up with the Indian contingent in Sussex on Thursday ahead of the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia.

Surya, along with opener Shubman Gill, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and former captain Ajinkya Rahane started their practice drills, a day after landing in the UK after featuring in the recent IPL playoffs.

Surya made his Test debut earlier this year against Australia in Nagpur.

However, he failed to capitalize on the opportunity and was dropped from the rest of the matches.

The dynamic batsman is coming off a magical IPL season, where he smashed 600+ runs at a strike rate in excess of 180.

However, he is unlikely to play any part in the WTC final against Australia, unless the team-management pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

As far as the make-up of the batting line-up is concerned, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will open the innings, with Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli to slot in at 3 and 4 respectively.

Comeback man Rahane will likely take up the No.5 spot, with Ravindra Jadeja to follow at No.6.

India will have a decision to make as far as wicketkeeper is concerned. They have KS Bharath, who played in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy, besides being a part of the Indian squad during their last tour of England.

Then, they have Ishan Kishan, who has largely been picked because he is an attacking left-hander.

The WTC final will take place at the Oval between June 07-11.
