India's fielding coach, T Dilip, requested legendary Sachin Tendulkar to announce the winner for Men In Blue's latest 'best fielder' from the ICC World Cup 2023 clash against Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Thursday (November 2).

Tendulkar paid a glowing tribute to Rohit Sharma & company for their excellent on-field performance in the most comprehensive win over the Lankan Lions and retaining their incredible seven-match winning streak at the marquee tournament.

The maestro then announced rising middle-order force Shreyas Iyer as India's 'best fielder' for his impressive display in the disastrous opposition run-chase and enriched the young Mumbaikar's day after he blasted a terrific 82 at No.4 in the first innings, having walked in with tremendous pressure and premature scrutiny on his spot.

Tendulkar Announces Iyer As India's 'Best Fielder'

In what were incredible scenes in a clip issued by the BCCI on Twitter, Iyer was seen jumping up in loud celebrations with his teammates gathered inside the Indian changing room after Tendulkar announced a clip played on the TV screen.

The 28-year-old then received the medal from the previous recipient, KL Rahul, who wore the happiest look for his middle-order partner.

Tendulkar's presence on the screen got everyone glued to the screen inside the changing room and triggered great excitement amongst the players, led by his two capable successors and senior pros, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The legend initially heaped effusive praise on Team India for retaining a dominant outlook from the word in their massive 302-run win over the Lankan Lions and cementing a spot in the semis with a remarkable 7-0 streak.

He then turned his attention to what everyone inside the squad had been waiting for. Tendulkar asked Dilip to hand over the 'best fielder of the match' award to the new winner, Iyer, who was jubilant as the master confirmed his name for the prize and duly accepted the medal from the previous winner, Rahul.
