ICC 2023 World Cup host broadcaster Star Sports launched a thrilling promo for the much-anticipated India and Australia league stage encounter scheduled in Chennai on Sunday (October 8).

As the "two giants of the game collide" with the intention to launch their World Cup quest with an opening game triumph, fans were captivated by a great clip featuring the players from both sides.

The clip also featured the voices of former India skipper Sourav Ganguly and ex-Australian captain Mark Taylor. Star Sports used the remarks used by the two former cricketers from their commentary duties during the 2019 edition of the World Cup in the United Kingdom, followed by a series of brief introductions to the famous cricketers from either side.

"India very, very keen to make a good start," Ganguly could be heard saying before Taylor adds to the excitement and theatrics of the occasion with the reminder that the tournament hosts will be up against not only their historic arch-rivals but also the five-time "champions of the world".

The promo had three of India's contemporary giants, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, facing up to the Australian pace duo of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, who were shown running into the bowl in full steam against the opposition trio in the animated video.

This was followed by a dramatic roar from Kohli with the sounds of "jeetenge hum.. jeetenge hum!!" following up to give the fans a goosebump moment during the clip and set the scene on fire before the much-anticipated India versus Australia battle royale.

The song "jeetenge hum.. jeetenge hum... jeetenge hum World Cup" proved to be a perfect embed with the clip that had heaps of Indian fans carrying the national flag with them and wholeheartedly supporting them.

The flag-waving image was presumably from the league stage encounter between the two great sides at the 2019 World Cup, where India came out triumphant in a high-scoring fixture in front of a packed house at The Oval in London.

Rohit's men will be hoping to replicate their performance in the coming face-off in Chennai as they gear up for the campaign opener versus their toughest opposition.
