Following the footsteps of Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, another development comes at a significant time for Indian cricket, with star batter Virat Kohli expected to be a part of the Delhi team before their Elite Group D match against Saurashtra, to be played on January 23 in Rajkot.

Kohli To Train With Delhi Ranji Team

While Virat Kohli is yet to be confirmed for this match, the reports by Cricbuzz claims that 35-year- old Kohli might feature in the team. His potential return, even if not in the playing XI, is expected to have a significant impact as he is set to train with the Indian team. This move, which has been followed as an example by captain Rohit Sharma speaks volumes about the types of star players the two are.

The star India right-hander, who has received a lot of criticism for his recent form, will marka significant return to Ranji Trophy cricket as it will be his first appearance in the domestic tournament since 2012, should he opt to play.

Rishabh Pant To Play Ranji

Alongside Kohli, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has already confirmed his participation in the match, bolstering Delhi's chances in the elite encounter. In fact, Rishabh Pant is expected to lead the Delhi Ranji Team as well.

"Rishabh Pant has confirmed that he will be available for selection for Delhi’s Ranji Trophy game against Saurashtra in Rajkot,” DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma told The Indian Express.

Similar to Pant, several other Indian players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill are expected to play in Ranji Trophy.
