Just when you think Virat Kohli has done it all, he finds a way to level up again. While the RCB veteran is busy lighting up the IPL with bat in hand, he is also making moves off the field and big ones at that.

Virat Kohli Joins World Bowling League As Strategic Investor

In a development that has got fans talking across both cricket and bowling circles, Virat Kohli has officially joined the World Bowling League (WBL) as a strategic investor. The 36-year-old is rolling into the bowling world and he is diving in, business-first.

Virat’s love for bowling isn’t newfound.

“I started bowling when I was 11 years old, spinning the ball by 12,” he said, while reflecting on his latest sporting venture.

“It is evident how popular the sport is while being under appreciated as a business proposition," added Kohli.

The decision to invest in WBL seems personal and strategic. After tasting success alongside Adi K Mishra with Team Blue Rising in the E1 electric racing series, Kohli has once again teamed up with Mishra, this time to redefine how bowling is viewed across the globe.

Adi K. Mishra Calls It A ‘Sleeping Giant’

The WBL is aiming to flip the script on bowling with new-age mixed-gender teams, unique oil-patterned lanes, 3D-printed innovations and high-octane events in iconic global venues. Founder and CEO Adi K. Mishra believes they are just scratching the surface.

“Elite-level bowling is a world of intricate challenges—from lanes with unique topographies and thousands of 3D-printed oil patterns to balls that react differently with every roll. When I discovered Virat is also a bowler, it was exciting to align on this new-age vision for the sport. Virat’s relentless drive for sports mirrors our own. Every week, we uncover more about bowling’s global depth and fascinating history – it’s a sleeping giant we’re ready to awaken,” said Mishra.

The buzz around WBL isn’t just marketing fluff. A few weeks ago, MLB superstar and three-time World Series champion Mookie Betts came on board with his franchise, Team OMG. That move lit a spark. But now, with Kohli’s name in the mix, the league has truly grabbed global attention.

RCB To Take On PBKS In IPL 2025 Qualifier 1

While he is expanding his empire off the field, Kohli’s RCB has finally broken their playoff curse. After a strong win against LSG in the last league match, RCB booked a seat in Qualifier 1 against PBKS on May 29 in Mullanpur.

A win there, and they will be heading to their first IPL final since 2016. Looks like Kohli is on a roll both literally and figuratively.

Meanwhile, with stars like Kohli and Mookie Betts already in the frame, and more franchises set to drop soon, the World Bowling League might just become the next big sporting revolution.
