U19 World Cup 2022: Aaradhya Yadav replaces Vasu Vats in Indian squad

Aaradhya Yadav has replaced Vasu Vats in the Indian squad in the ongoing U19 World Cup. 

“Vats has sustained a hamstring injury and will be unable to take any further part in the event,” the ICC said in a statement.

Yadav was earlier among the six Indian players who had tested positive for Covid-19 and were forced into isolation. 

The BCCI had subsequently sent five players, Abhishek Porel (Bengal), Uday Saharan (Punjab), Rishith Reddy (Hyderabad), Ansh Gosai (Saurashtra), and PM Singh Rathore (Rajasthan) as stand by to Trinidad. 

Nishant Sidhu who was the stand-in captain in absence of Yash Dhull has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19. 

India will be taking on Bangladesh in the quarter-final fixture and the winner of this match will lock horns with Australia in the semi-final.
