In a significant development, SRH opener Travis Head has landed in hot waters as Royal Challengers Bengaluru has filed a case against Uber Moto in Delhi high court over a controversial ad featuring the Australia star batter. Notably, On April 5, 2025, Uber released a video where Travis Head, along a Uber rider, vandalised the stadium.
Notably, in the video, Head secretly travelled to a stadium, where he vandalised the team name from Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 'Royally Challenged Bengaluru' with a spray. RCB were upset with the ad as they felt that Uber mocked the team's brand name and slogan.
RCB accused Uber of using their slogan ‘Ee Sala Cup Namde’ without their permission. In this ad, Travis Head, nicknamed ‘Hyderabaddie,’ is shown sneaking into a stadium with another person and spray-painting ‘Royally Challenged Bengaluru vs Hyderabad’ instead of just ‘Bengaluru vs Hyderabad.’
What Did Uber Respond To The Filed Case?
Uber remarked that that the ad was made not to hurt anyone's sentiment and felt that the lawsuit was silly. They clarified that they referred to the Bengaluru traffic and not the team led by Rajat Patidar.
“RCB has severely underestimated the Indian public’s sense of humour,” Uber’s lawyer said, calling the lawsuit “preposterous.” Uber further added that this kind of ad is just harmless creativity.
What Did The Court Respond?
So far, the court has heard both sides and is yet to announce their decision on the matter. Further, both side awaits whether Travis Head too would face any repercussion because of the ad or not.
