The 4th match of Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 will be played between Salem Spartans and Nellai Royal Kings. The Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli will host the game on Saturday (June 25).

Salem Spartans succumbed to a torrid performance in the 2021 edition of the TNPL. They finished seventh in the points table with just two wins from seven league stage matches. However, with the likes of Vijay Shankar, Murugan Ashwin and Pranav Kumar in their ranks, Spartans hope to turn their fortune around this season.

Nellai Royal Kings, on the other hand, kicked off their league campaign on a winning note. In their opening clash, they got the better of the defending champions Chepauk Super Gillies, handing them a defeat in Super Over. 

After putting to bat first, the Royal Kings posted a mammoth total of 184 in the first inning, courtesy of Laxmesha Suryaprakash (62 off 50) and Sanjay Yadav's (87 off 47) blistering half-century knocks. 

The Super Gillies, in reply, finished on 184/7 in the prescribed 20 overs, taking the game to the Super Over, where Nellai Super Kings chased down the target of 10 runs in an over on the penultimate delivery.  

Heading into their next clash, the Royals Kings expect their bowlers to showcase a better performance and sustain their winning momentum in the tournament.
