Thunder secure services of Caribbean all-rounder Deandra Dottin

Lancashire Thunder has secured the services of West Indian veteran Deandra Dottin.

Dottin will be available for the Thunder's opening fixture of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy against Northern Diamonds on July 3 (Sunday).

Dottin is the first player to hit a century in Women's T20Is. She achieved the feat against South Africa in the 2010 edition of the T20 World Cup. Since then, she has been an integral member of the Caribbean team.

In 124 T20I appearances, the 31-year-old has amassed 2681 runs and scalped 61 wickets.

Dottin had featured for Lancashire Thunder in the 2016 edition of the Kia Super League. She scored 87 runs and picked up seven wickets in the tournament.

She has been a part of the Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat in the WBBL. She also represented Trailblazers and Supernovas in the Women's T20 Challenge. Furthermore, Dottin played for London Spirit in the inaugural edition of The Hundred.

The top-order batter will be available for the first four matches of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. After that, she will join the Manchester Originals squad for the 2022 edition of the Hundred, which is set to begin on August 11.

Dottin expressed excitement to feature as one of the rare overseas players for the Thunder team. She hopes to do well in the tournament at one of her favourite grounds, Old Trafford.

"I am really excited to be in Manchester and ready to play in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for the first time with the Thunder,"

"I already know a few members of the squad following my time in the KSL six years ago and it will be a good opportunity to re-unite with them and have some more fun playing cricket here,"

"I am looking forward to playing at Emirates Old Trafford again, one of my favourite grounds in cricket," the player concluded.
